Ever wanted to stream your beloved Apple TV apps in 4K? Well you’ll soon be able to.
Yesterday evening at it’s brand spanking new underground theatre a.k.a the Steve Jobs Theatre, Apple announced a wealth of new devices available to preorder in the coming months, and one of them will tickle the fancy of new and existing Apple TV customers – yep I’m talking about the Apple tv 4k uk reveal.
The biggest bonus of upgrading to the new device will of course be the ability to stream content in super-rich 4K. Alongside the big 4K news though, the device will also readily support the use of HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology.
Using the same internal chip as the one that’s found in an Ipad Pro (the A10X) alongside a GPU that’s 4x faster and a 2x faster CPU will mean this device is going to pack a real punch in terms of what it Can do.
So what about my existing movies?
Here’s the cherry on top of the cake – if customers with an existing device choose to upgrade to the new refreshed box their entire movie collection will automatically be updated to 4K steams to tout the new upgrade. No price difference will exist between the two version as the technology progresses – pretty sweet huh?
Did someone say live sports?
In a never before seen move, Apple received a decent applause as the event when they announced they’d be bringing live sports to their Apple TV box, and if you’re deciding what to watch you’ll be given real-time score information within the TV menu to help you make up your mind.
When can I get my hands on the Apple TV 4k UK?
The Apple TV 4K device will be available to preorder on September 15th ready for launch on September 22nd, there’ll be two versions including a 32GB and 64GB version of the device.
