Metal Gear Solid 5 Quiet Is Now A Playable Character In Discreet Update

Metal Gear Solid 5 Quiet

In an update that was certainly kept on the down-low Metal Gear Solid 5 Quiet has now been made into a playable character, it was the first update to Metal Gear 5 in around a year and players that have dropped out of the game might have a good reason to go back and play some more.

Star Struck Gaming – did you know? Quiet is the lightly-clothed sniper that Snake comes into a boss battle with during the main story of the Phantom Pain – and the reason she’s hardly dressed is actually because she takes every breath through her skin (I thought it was just cotton that breathed!).

What you can and can’t do with Quiet – keep it clean!

First up is the bad news – you’ll have to stick with the uniform she has on, no ability to change what she’s wearing but the starter outfit isn’t so bad in my opinion.

You’ll be able to use Quiet to sneak into FOBs, and because she can run pretty damn fast and jump over ledges that Snake would need to use a ladder for, you’ll find the gameplay style somewhat different to what you’re used to – in a good way of course.

Her weapon of choice is a sniper rifle, staying completely still will give her a stealthy edge, and you can also use her dash ability to your advantage.

Direct from Konami, here’s some images of Quiet doing her thing:

When is the Metal Gear Solid 5 Quiet update available?

The good news is its available to download right now for PS4, Xbox One and PC – assuming you already have the game. As a reminder, Metal Gear Solid 5 was free to download as part of Xbox Games With Gold in May and for PlayStation Plus members in October last year.

Aside from the playability of Quiet, the 17.1 update also includes a variety of new weapons as well as hard and easy difficulty levels which apply to FOB events.

Konami’s website lists all of the patch notes, although we think we’ve covered everything worth knowing within this article.

Have your say!
