If you’re solely a PC gamer then when Red Dead 2 came to Xbox and PS4, you may have been wondering where the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC was, and when it was coming. Fortunately it seems like we might be a step closer to this PC release actually being a thing, that’s thanks to a new leak that means the Western open-world title has emerged from the fog that once was.

Red Dead Redemption 2 PC IS real

Aside from other leaks that occurred earlier in 2019 surrounding the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC port as detailed by GamesRadar, there’s now been new information from the developers themselves. Okay not in the form of an official announcement, but details that the Social Club – Rockstar’s player community have discovered.

Thanks to a Tweet from a Twitter user called JakoMako51 regards the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC port, reference of ‘RDR2_PC_Accomplishments’ have been unearthed from the Social Club source code. Whether this specific source code entry is a new addition or perhaps something that’s been there for a while is a guess right now. If it is a new entry though it could mean the PC announcement is incoming very soon.

The wording ‘PC_Achievements’ was also discovered in the source code, but it’s unclear if this is in relation to something completely unrelated with Rockstar yet to make anything a little more concrete. One thing is for certain though, the Red Dead 2 community have a clear verdict that the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC port is well on its way.

In addition to this latest find for the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC version, there was also talk surrounding the game making its way onto the Nintendo Switch. It’s unlikely we’ll see that in the near future, as the guys at Rockstar seem pretty busy working on the potential GTA 6 specifics and Red Dead Online.

I've been a gamer ever since I was old enough to hold a controller, early 90's to be exact. My first console was a NES, with my favourite games ranging from Super Mario to Duck Hunt. Fast forward almost 30 years and I'm now a PS4, PC and Switch player. My ideal genres are RPG and RTS titles, so Assassin's Creed, Kingdom Hearts, Viv 6 and Two Point Hospital are included in my mix.

Have your say!
