Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription to be made available to everyone

The Microsoft Xbox E3 2019 press conference is happening this evening, but ahead ofg the conference Microsoft decided to drop some news surrounding its Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. Specifically, the subscription service is set to be made available for all Xbox players.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription – what’s new?

You might be thinking there’s nothing new here, but in fact the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription was previously only available to Xbox Insiders, and offered in excess of 100 games and an Xbox Live Gold subscription in one price tag.

Depending one whether you have the one service or the two, an upgrade to an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription will auto-upgrade your Xbox game Pass and Xbox Live Gold subscriptions together.

With an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription it’s also worth bearing in mind that included with the one price is the traditional Xbox Game Pass plan for console gamers, an Xbox Live subscription, and in addition includes Xbox Game Pass for PC. In other words using the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription will allow players to play games on their Xbox One as usual and then continue those same games on a Windows-based PC.

It’s worth knowing that if you already have both Xbox Games Pass and Xbox Live Gold subscriptions, there’s no requirement to upgrade – it’s your choice.

If you do fancy seeing what all the fuss is about, an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription can be picked up for £10.99, with your first month being £1 via the Microsoft Store.

I've been a gamer ever since I was old enough to hold a controller, early 90's to be exact. My first console was a NES, with my favourite games ranging from Super Mario to Duck Hunt. Fast forward almost 30 years and I'm now a PS4, PC and Switch player. My ideal genres are RPG and RTS titles, so Assassin's Creed, Kingdom Hearts, Viv 6 and Two Point Hospital are included in my mix.

Have your say!
