When Thursday arrives (August 28th) it will mark the start of an entire week where a Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege free play event takes place. We’ve detailed everything you need to know to ensure you don’t miss out on the action.
How to get Rainbow Six Siege free
If you’re looking to take advantage of the Rainbow Six Siege free play event, then you can enjoy the game for an entire week regardless of which platform you play. PS4, PC and Xbox One players will all be able to join in on the action for zero charges. The week-long event will provide the fully-fledged version of the game, that means all operators, modes and every map will be ready and waiting to play.
Okay, the game might be four years old now, however since its release it has received an abundance of expansions and updates. This is thanks to a wealth of community events and several operators. Thanks to the TLC the game has and still received it has ensured the playability hasn’t become stagnant, with the developers (Ubi) communication that they’re avoiding a sequel and are instead continuing to update Siege. It’d be great if this means that next-gen support comes in, perhaps for the PS5 or Project Scarlett.
If you tuned into the Ubisoft E3 2019 conference, then you’ll have seen the announcement of Rainbow Six: Quarantine, which is more of a spinoff than a Siege sequel. The game has a PvE focus rather than what players are used to with the Siege PVP style. Operation Ember Rise is the latest season to come to Siege and releases at the same time as players can get Rainbow Six Siege free. Players will come head to head with players participating in the open week and others who own the full version of the game.
If you play the hell out of the Rainbow Six Siege free event and want more, then you can get the game at a discounted price when the free play week concludes on your chosen platform. Value for money wise, Siege isn’t going anywhere with all the updates it currently receives, so the game at a discount would be a steal.
