the-walking-dead-final-season-3

Well guys it’s a new week which can only mean one thing; yep you guessed it – a bunch of new games for you to get your hands on! This week appears to follow more of a mature audience theme with zombies, undercover agents, and futuristic thrillers. Without digressing further here are the top games releases coming August 13th – 19th 2018.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season (Episode 1)

Xbox One, Switch, PC and PS4 – August 14th

”Walking Dead fans, the end is nigh! Episode one of The Walking Dead: The Final Season will be available for download worldwide starting August 14, 2018 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One” states the Telltale Games’ website. Personally though I’m yet to finish season 2!

World of Warcraft – Battle for Azeroth

PS4 and PC – August 14th

Azeroth paid a terrible price to end the apocalyptic march of the Legion’s crusade—but even as the world’s wounds are tended, it is the shattered trust between the Alliance and Horde that may prove hardest to mend.

As this age-old conflict reignites, gather your allies and champion your faction’s cause—for Azeroth’s future will be forged in the fires of war. World Of Warcraft: Battle For Azeroth looks like it’s going to deliver.

Phantom Doctrine

Xbox One, PS4 and PC – August 14th

Set in 1983 during the Cold War, Phantom Doctrine is an alternate history thriller in which players lead The Cabal, a secret organization dedicated to fighting a global conspiracy committed to controlling the world by pitting world leaders and nations against one another. Deception is the great equalizer as players will have to operate from the shadows to exploit every vulnerability – ruthlessly interrogate and brainwash enemies and allies alike to create double agents, saboteurs or unwitting collaborators.

State of Mind

PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC – August 15th

State of Mind is a futuristic thriller game delving into transhumanism. The game explores themes of separation, disjuncture and reunification, in a world that is torn between a dystopian material reality and a Utopian virtual future.

The top games releases this week – our verdict

Of the list of top games releases coming out this week our pick this week is (drum roll) Phantom Doctrine. The storyline looks to be one that’ll keep players on the edge of their seats, but also promises gameplay that wants to keep us hooked in – I mean who doesn’t want to brainwash people into becoming double agents!?

I've been a gamer ever since I was old enough to hold a controller, early 90's to be exact. My first console was a NES, with my favourite games ranging from Super Mario to Duck Hunt. Fast forward almost 30 years and I'm now a PS4, PC and Switch player. My ideal genres are RPG and RTS titles, so Assassin's Creed, Kingdom Hearts, Viv 6 and Two Point Hospital are included in my mix.

Have your say!
