After PS4 Remote Play finally got a release for iPhone, it seems Valve had its own addition to its existing game streaming feature. The new Steam link Anywhere feature will now allow users to stream their games from pretty much any device running the Steam app.

Which devices will Steam Link Anywhere support?

The Steam link Anywhere feature is all-set to run on any supported TV, smartphone or tablet, in addition to using the Steam link hardware. The idea behind the new feature is to allow you to play any of your computer games from your PC or laptop and stream them remotely over the interweb seamlessly.

If you’re one of the lucky players with the beta firmware, you’ll be one of the first to take the feature for a test spin – for the rest of us we’ll have to wait a little longer til it’s out of the beta stages. It goes without saying that a requirement for a good internet connection is going to be a must, Valve also confirmed this.

One other feature aside from the steam link Anywhere one is the ability allow game traffic to be used on its own private network, this supports any game within Steam. This private network is the same one that games like Dota 2 and CS GO run on which Valve built from the ground ujp itself.

With GDC fast-approaching this may not have been the features Valve fans were hoping to hear about, but there’s definitely some real potential sitting behind them.

Have your say!
