It may seem like we’ve been waiting forever, several years in fact, but it seems like we’ve finally have what every Final Fantasy fan could ask for – a Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date. Before E3 2019 opened there was a Final Fantasy concert which opened the gates to the treasures within the show. During this time was when the release date for Final Fantasy 7 actually surfaced, although we’re yet to see Square Enix’ E3 2019 presentation to reveal more info.

When is the Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date?

So glad you asked. The Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date is set to arrive on March 3rd 2020, and as you can see from the above trailer we’re set to see the likes of Barret and Cloud taking on the Bombing quest alongside other familiar characters. You’ll recall this mission is set at the very beginning of the original 1997 Final Fantasy 7 (assuming you played it). We also get to see a glimpse of the redesigned Omnislash which looks as awesome as the original did.

One of the big differences we’ll see on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date is shown towards the end of the trailer, specifically the part when a weird black entity takes hold of Cloud as Aerith takes hold of Cloud’s hand.

Having the news of a Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date is rather big news for fans, as until this many of us have been kept well in the dark in terms of both the story and any gameplay. The most recent development prior to the release date reveal was at the PlayStation State of Play event which was streamed live last month.

The Final Fantasy VII remake has had a lengthy development journey and, over the years, fans have been kept mostly in the dark. This has changed recently, as Square Enix has been delivering more information and even providing glimpses at how the game looks and plays. Most recently, Final Fantasy VII Remake was featured in a PlayStation State of Play live-stream held in May.

For now though that’s all we have on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date, but we expect to see more at the Square Enix E3 2019 conference. Check out our E3 2019 press conference schedule to find out when all the presentations are happening.

I've been a gamer ever since I was old enough to hold a controller, early 90's to be exact. My first console was a NES, with my favourite games ranging from Super Mario to Duck Hunt. Fast forward almost 30 years and I'm now a PS4, PC and Switch player. My ideal genres are RPG and RTS titles, so Assassin's Creed, Kingdom Hearts, Viv 6 and Two Point Hospital are included in my mix.

Have your say!
