Once you reach Act 2, the world will open up into a snowy environment, and once you do, you’ll discover the Gears 5 Lost Outsiders locations mission. The campsite of the Outsiders will become available after beginning or completing the New Hope quest.
Lena’s Journal will be one of the first collectables you’ll discover in the Outsider Camp. Once you collect the journal, it will initiate the side mission known as the Lost Outsiders. To be successful with the task, you will visit two comms towers and will be required to track down the Gears 5 Lost Outsiders locations. We’ve listed each of the Outsiders locations to help you get to 100% completion more quickly.
Gears 5 Lost Outsiders locations: Tower Substation (East)
For this location, you’ll be able to head here only once you reach Act 2 Chapter 4 ‘The source of it all’. Once you’ve reached this part of the campaign, head to the South-Eastern area of the map to locate a door which you’ll need to open. The entry is located just North of your main objective. Once you’re in, Lena will be inside although the cold snap has hit her pretty hard. Head around to the left-North corner of the tower to pick up the Security Memorandum collectable.
Once you’re done, pick up any other items you find and head outside to take the Skiff in a Northern direction.
Gears 5 Lost Outsiders locations: Tower Substation (North)
The next of the Gears 5 Lost Outsiders locations will require you to head to the North-Western area of the map; this is where you’ll locate the Northern Substation Tower.
Once you arrive, head down the track from the North Comms Tower, and you’ll find another door. Open the door by interacting with the keypad lock, and doing so will provide Lena’s Scribbles.
Upon entry, it’s pretty much the same structure as the last Substation, except that entering the second room inside will trigger an attack from Norsko. Make sure to have a Gnasher equipped to leave his brains all over the floor. Assuming you take him down, you’ll need to open a safe located in the corner, to do this ask Jack to do the honours. Inside the safe, you’ll find the Shock Trap seeker upgrade ability for Jack.
