Spyro Reignited Trilogy Bundle

When we heard the news that the highly anticipated remaster of all three Spyro games was set to be pushed back, we were gutted. Now though it seems that ahead of the release next month, the decade-long-awaited remaster is set to be released as part of a Spyro Reignited Trilogy bundle with the three remastered games within the Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy.

Making up for lost time

It appears that Activision have taken the bold step to release the joint bundle, which includes six games, as a way of softening the blow to the initial release date being pushed back. The combination of both remastered titles are set to appeal to both old and new players alike, so if you were considering getting the Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy anyway it may be worth the wait.

How much will it cost?

Details are a little thin at the moment, but what we do know is that some major retailers mistakenly listed six remastered classic titles on their website under “Spyro + Crash Remastered Game Bundle,” a great little spot by Gematsu. The game is set to cost $59.99 so we’re probably looking at something like £49.99 in the UK.

One of the retailers in question was Walmart, who listed their description as follows:

”Your favourite Dragon and Bandicoot are back! With the Spyro + Crash Remastered Game Bundle, you get two fully remastered trilogies, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy and the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, for a total of six iconic games.Rekindle the fire with the original three Spyro games: Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. Then spin, jump, and wump as you take on the three Crash games that started it all: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped.”

What else do we know?

In typical Activision style when something like this leaks accidentally, they haven’t commented nor confirmed the Spyro Reignited Trilogy bundle with Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy yet, but the likelihood is its going to be happening. On a lot of occasions, when leaks from major retailers emerge they do have some truth behind them, and when they include both images and a product description its hard to turn a blind eye to it not being something real.

In essence if everything goes ahead as we’d hope, then we’ll see the Spyro Reignited Trilogy bundle launch along with the Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy for those who haven’t already bought the latter, and it will likely launch on November 13th – both on the same day.

I've been a gamer ever since I was old enough to hold a controller, early 90's to be exact. My first console was a NES, with my favourite games ranging from Super Mario to Duck Hunt. Fast forward almost 30 years and I'm now a PS4, PC and Switch player. My ideal genres are RPG and RTS titles, so Assassin's Creed, Kingdom Hearts, Viv 6 and Two Point Hospital are included in my mix.

Have your say!
