You’re not alone as a Division 2 player if you’ve ever thought it’d be cool for the game to be a Division 2 single player-only title. Obviously the current game relies on smashing through missions ion co-op fashion, although you have the option to polish them off on solo. The TT Games level Director 2 has tweeted to say he’s been thinking about a Division 2 single player spin-off title, and it doesn’t sound like a bad concept in any way.
Tim Spencer for TT Games says “I love the idea of a single player narrative driven spin-off of The Division Game,” and “Focusing on an agent trying to get home to their family after being sent to NYC, during the SHD blackout from the fall of DC. TLOU x Division.

In a tweet that followed Spencer states “None of the stories have explored what a Division agent sacrifices, and what they go through mentally,” in addition to “When you think about it: it’s a pretty dark/epic thing – there’s huge opportunity to tell some incredible stories there.
“Sat here in a burrito restaurant, and all I want is a pad of post-it notes and a marker pen to write down all the epic stories our agent could have, in chapters, through their long journey home during the fall of society haunted by nightmares of what could have happened to their family, because they answered the call of the SHD, so weren’t there to protect them during the fall.”
Julian Gerighty is the creative director for The Division 2, and was tagged specifically in Spencer’s Division 2 single player tweet, and said no more about it. Said tweet however got plenty of attention after Gerighty retweeted the post to his twitter audience asking “thoughts?”. As you’d expect the replies fooded in with many being well up for the idea.
Apparently not something people are violently against 🙂

The first of the Division 2 expeditions has been confirmed, and drops this month on July 23rd if you purchased the One Year Pass, if not you’ll have to wait until July 30th. For those without the Pass, we feel your pain!
Over to you, would you play a Division 2 single player spin-off?
