It needs no confirmation to say that most of us hadn’t heard even a whisper about Apex Legends when EA unveiled the game at the start of this year. This was for ‘most’ of us though with a certain user on Reddit reckoning he knew the game was coming when sharing an Apex Legends leaked map.
To be specific, the Redditor actually shared an image of the map on Reddit over 11 months ago – way ahead of when the game released. Of course everyone though it was a lot of BS and down voted the post.
Polygon detailed a Reddit thread known as the “Alleged Minimap for Rumored Titanfall Battle Royal game”, unfortunately while we know the Apex Legends leaked map had some real validity back then hiticonic the original poster got some serious down votes on Reddit. The Rdditor reckoned that a new Battle Royale game along the lines of Titanfall was on the way when he shared a map to bacjkup his theory in April last year.
The problem hiticonic had was the fact they’d only posted a headline with a map, without further detail – making the speculation a little less believable.
One Redditor posted a comment saying “I really hope this doesn’t happen,” (but then essentially took back their comment by saying “I have put too much time into this game so far, my prejudice was very wrong”). There were also other comments basically stating “IT’S NOT REAL”.
Raspawn even saw the Apex Legends Leaked Map last year
JayFresh_Respawn, Respawn Community Manager put in his 2 cents to say “Haha I remember this! It was a relief to see folks blow it off and I was thinking, ‘well, he’ll be able to say I was right when next year comes along’,”
Prior to editing his own post asking others to put a stop to rewarding Reddit Gold, Hiticonic stated “I’ll take my upvotes now :P”
It’s not surprising that the tables have now turned with others reckoning the Apex Legends Leaked Map was planned or intentional from the start.
Awoo wrote in /Apexlegends “HMMMMMMMM. I smell intentional leaks from the dev team. I’m onto you.” and that “/u/hiticonic is a mod here,”
Amazing how quickly some change their opinions eh!?
