Many of us were hoping that the next instalment to the Need for Speed franchise would be revealed during E3 2019. With a complete no-show during the event, we’ve had to wait a little longer to hear anything about Need For Speed 2019.
Need For Speed 2019: the specifics
During a report provided to investors, EA promised eager fans waiting for Need For Speed 2019 would be “heading into Gamescom in a few weeks”, and an arrival in time for Christmas was likely to be the case. With that in mind, EA has left it a little last minute to announce the NFS sequel, considering it’s going to be contending with the likes of Borderlands 3 and Death Stranding coming in Q4 too. Regardless though, that’s the promise by EA so we’ll just have to wait and see when it launches.
As of yesterday, EA communicated that Need For Speed 2019 will be unveiled this Wednesday, the 14th of August at 3 PM BST! The new countdown clock emerged on EA’s Need For Speed microsite over the weekend, which you can check out for yourself to start counting those seconds!
After Need For Speed 2019 is brought to the world it will be shown off more during Gamescom for sure. The racing genre over at EA has been eerily quiet for quite some time now, with more attention drawn to the next Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and FIFA 20 just around the corner. We had a remaster of Need for Speed four years ago, but it suffices to say that didn’t go down too well.
In addition to a new Need for Speed announce, the investor call also showed a few other games in the making, such as Plants Vs ZXombies 3 for mobile, and another addition to the Plants Vs Zombies franchise yet to receive a name.
