Trekkies and Trekkers alike have just been treated to a trailer for the upcoming Star Trek series Picard.
After 17 years since Star Trek: Nemisis, Patrick Stewart will reprise his role as one of science fictions most beloved characters, Jean Luc Picard.
The trailer has revealed a great number of details and confirmed rumours circulating about who will star in the series.
It has now been confirmed that Jerry Ryan will be reprising her role as 7 of 9 (adjunct of unmatrix zero) from Star Trek Voyager and from the trailer seemingly the borg will play a part in the series.
Picard appears to have tried to stay away from new life and new civilisation after the loss of Liutenant Commander Data who sacrificed himself in Star Trek: Nemesis.
But the trailer takes us straight back into the action giving Picard a brand new crew. Picard is also told to ‘remember who you are.’
Picard of course being a hero, much like Kirk, a legend of his era on the flagship vessel in Starfleet.
Just when you think its all over, we get a glimpse of B-4, the prototype version of Lt.Commander Data.
This confirms that Brent Spiner will also reprise his role. Although this may potentially only be a cameo it is a great nod.
With a release date slated for Early 2020 on CBS Access in America and Amazon Prime in the UK.
Fans will be very excited to see what other suprises the series will have in store when it comes to the original cast and crew of the Enterprise.
